Baloch National Movement Protests Human Rights Abuses in Geneva

The Baloch National Movement organized a protest rally in Geneva on September 27, 2026, to demand international intervention against human rights abuses in Pakistan. Gathering outside the United Nations Office at the Broken Chair monument, the group joined representatives from Sindh, the Pashtun community, and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to denounce extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and the sentencing of activists in fabricated cases.

Protesters alleged that the Pakistan Army operates without the rule of law and has transformed Balochistan into a "military cantonment." The group specifically highlighted the situation in Sindh, reporting over 3,500 enforced disappearances and 100 extrajudicial killings.

This demonstration was part of a wider September campaign that included a previous protest outside the United Nations headquarters in New York. That event coincided with an address to the UN General Assembly by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The movement urged the United Nations and the global community to end their silence and take immediate action regarding the conditions in Balochistan, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
