US Ambassador Sergio Gor Meets Indian Officials to Boost Ties

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor conducted a series of diplomatic meetings on August 10, 2026, to advance bilateral relations. In New Delhi, Gor met with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora to discuss trade and investment opportunities.

These engagements follow a phone call between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US Vice-President JD Vance. The two leaders discussed deepening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, with a specific focus on critical technologies, energy security, and defense.

Gor also traveled to Kochi, Kerala, where he met with Chief Minister VD Satheesan. Their discussions centered on regional cooperation regarding port infrastructure, technology, and higher education, including the expansion of joint research and academic exchanges between institutions in the US and Kerala.
