David Umahi Predicts 90 Percent South East Support for Tinubu

Minister of Works David Umahi announced that the South East geopolitical zone will provide 90 percent support for President Bola Tinubu in the February 20, 2027, presidential election. Speaking during an inspection of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway at the Alaoji axis, Umahi stated that federal road projects and key appointments have addressed regional marginalization.

Umahi advised political figure Peter Obi that it is not yet the turn of the South East to produce a president, warning that failing to support the current administration would be detrimental to the region. He emphasized that the region should be strategic in its political decisions given the benefits already received.

During the inspection, Umahi also addressed infrastructure concerns, assuring Arab Contractors of prompt funding to complete road works before a presidential tour in May. He noted that the project infrastructure is designed to last 50 years and confirmed that all projects have been sent to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission for evaluation to ensure transparency.
