Palantir Defense Chief Warns AI Boom Increases Taiwan Risk

Mike Gallagher, the head of defense at Palantir Technologies Inc., warned on Wednesday that advancements in artificial intelligence have increased the likelihood of Chinese leader Xi Jinping attempting to seize control of Taiwan.

Gallagher argued that Taiwan's position as a critical chipmaking hub fueling the global AI boom has heightened its strategic importance. He stated that the intense competition between the United States and China to dominate AI technology may compel Beijing to act on its designs for the island.
