U.S. Department of Defense Reports 775 Casualties in Iran War

The United States Department of Defense reported Wednesday that more than 750 U.S. service members have been wounded since the war against Iran began on February 28. Data from the Defense Casualty Analysis System shows a total of 18 deaths and 757 wounded personnel across Overseas Operations and Operation Epic Fury.

The latest update added more than 50 wounded soldiers as diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran remain at an impasse. The Pentagon previously faced scrutiny from lawmakers and media after casualty numbers in the database temporarily decreased, an occurrence officials attributed to "temporary data disruptions."

While the Strait of Hormuz remains a point of tension, President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the situation with Iran is "so good" and has paused negotiations with Tehran.
