Federal Judges Block Trump Executive Orders Amid Compliance Disputes

Donald Trump issued a series of executive orders affecting election laws, the federal workforce, and birthright citizenship that have faced widespread legal challenges. Federal district court judges have blocked or overturned numerous mandates, with plaintiffs winning more than twice as often as the administration in over 650 lawsuits.

Judges have rebuked the administration for failing to follow court rulings. Judge Patrick Schiltz of Minneapolis noted the unprecedented nature of the situation, stating that the court has had to repeatedly threaten the U.S. government with contempt to force compliance.

The administration has responded by filing judicial misconduct complaints through the United States Department of Justice. President Trump has publicly labeled judges who rule against him as "Radical Left Lunatic[s]" and called for the impeachment of those he describes as crooked. Some jurists have also faced personal retaliation, including death threats, doxxing, and swatting attacks.
