Max Miller Requests House Ethics Probe Amid Abuse Allegations

Representative Max Miller has requested an investigation by the House Ethics Committee to address allegations of illegal drug use, abuse, and domestic violence. The accusations stem primarily from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, who claims Miller threw boiling water at her. While Miller denies the abuse, he admitted to using illegal drugs several years ago.

The controversy intensified after Miller shared a Dropbox folder of divorce and custody documents on social media. The folder inadvertently contained a nude image of his toddler daughter. Miller's attorney, Aaron Minc, took responsibility for the leak, calling it an unintentional mistake. This incident prompted Senator Bernie Moreno, Miller's former father-in-law, to publicly state that Miller is unfit for Congress.

Miller remains defiant and intends to seek reelection despite pressure from Republican allies. Donald Trump informed Miller in a phone call that his upcoming race would be tough. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that the ethics investigation should play out. Republicans must determine if they will replace Miller on the ballot by an August 10 deadline.
