Nvidia Approves Record $235 Billion Stock Buyback Program
Nvidia approved an additional $150 billion in stock repurchases, establishing a new U.S. corporate record with a total buyback program of $235 billion.
Nvidia announced on Monday that its board approved an additional $150 billion in stock repurchase authorization. This expansion brings the company's total buyback program to approximately $235 billion, surpassing the previous U.S. corporate record of $110 billion set by Apple in 2024.
The announcement drove Nvidia shares up more than 3 percent in early trading to roughly $232. While the authorization does not mandate a specific schedule, the company's cash position supports the plan. Nvidia reported $21.34 billion in free cash flow in its most recent quarter, representing a 58 percent year-over-year increase.
CEO Jensen Huang characterized the buyback as a sign of confidence in the company's trajectory. This move follows Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue of $96.2 billion and projected revenue growth of approximately 70 percent by fiscal 2028.
