Representative McCormick Advocates for Data Center Expansion

U.S. Representative McCormick advocated for the expansion of data centers, arguing that the facilities provide significant economic benefits to local communities. McCormick dismissed concerns regarding water and energy consumption as misinformation. He suggested that political discourse should prioritize public education over populism and proposed building data centers on military bases, such as Fort Gordon, to improve security and funding.

Beyond infrastructure, McCormick expressed support for a continuing resolution to prevent a government shutdown and called for forceful U.S. action against Iran to ensure international shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz remain open. His position contrasts with other political figures, such as Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who paused data center developments pending an audit, and Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers, who has expressed reluctance toward such expansions.
