Segun Sowunmi Defends President Tinubu's Health and 2027 Fitness
Segun Sowunmi dismissed rumors regarding President Bola Tinubu's health and urged Ogun State voters to support the president's 2027 re-election bid.
PDP chieftain and Alternative Movement convener Segun Sowunmi defended the health and fitness of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election during a town hall meeting in Ogun State on Thursday.
Sowunmi rejected claims that the president's absence from the United Nations General Assembly was for a medical vacation. He described the trip as a working vacation that resulted in a $700 billion gas investment for Nigeria and a $17 billion seaport investment for Ogun State. He told attendees that "The President is in good health" and "The President is in sound mind."
Addressing the public's perception of the administration, Sowunmi urged Nigerians to ignore "naysayers" and avoid a culture of "self-hate" that celebrates negative news. He also called for higher voter turnout in Ogun State, arguing that its nearly three million registered voters must produce numbers comparable to those in Kano, Katsina, or Kaduna to secure a victory for the president in 2027.
