Trump Shifts to Tele-Rallies After Canceling Kansas and Iowa Stops

President Donald Trump replaced scheduled in-person rallies in Kansas and Iowa with a series of virtual tele-rallies to maximize reach before the November 3 midterm elections.

President Donald Trump canceled scheduled campaign rallies in Salina, Kansas, and Dubuque, Iowa, replacing them with more than 20 virtual tele-rallies conducted via mass conference calls. The White House and Republican National Committee stated the shift was intended to expand the president's reach in a 72-hour sprint before the November 3 midterm elections. While the RNC claimed Republican candidates in those states were in strong positions, polling showed Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton leading Republican Senator Roger Marshall in Kansas.

The cancellations sparked speculation regarding the president's health and fatigue after weeks of intensive travel. Trump denied these claims, stating he feels "perfect," and mocked a Reuters reporter who questioned his health, calling the journalist "disgusting" and "way out of shape."

Simultaneously, Trump held a rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to support Republican Senator Darline Graham. During the event, he criticized Democratic nominee Annie Andrews as "too crazy, too dangerous, too radical to serve in the United States Senate." Graham echoed these sentiments, calling Andrews the "most radical liberal candidate ever to run in office in this history of South Carolina."

Beyond these events, Trump addressed a controversy in Alaska, where the Justice Department issued subpoenas to investigate allegations that Democratic candidate Mary Peltola's campaign recruited a decoy candidate with the same name as Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan to confuse voters. Trump dismissed the reports as a "conspiracy" but suggested the situation could lead to a "dishonest election."
