Apple Opens Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston, Texas

Apple Inc. opened a 20,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) in Houston, Texas, to provide free training and educational sessions for small- and medium-sized businesses. The facility offers hands-on instruction in smart manufacturing, focusing on advanced automation and machine-learning-driven quality control. This center is the company's second U.S. manufacturing learning site, following the 2025 launch of the Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit.

The AMC is located on the same site where Apple currently builds and ships advanced AI servers. CEO Tim Cook announced that the facility will begin manufacturing the Mac mini later this year. Cook stated that the company invested hundreds of millions of dollars into the Houston site as part of a larger $600 billion commitment to strengthen the American manufacturing sector.

Government officials attending the opening highlighted the economic impact on the region. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick noted the center would equip workers with skills for next-generation technology, while Governor Greg Abbott described the expansion as a sign that Texas is the epicenter of American industry. Senator Ted Cruz and Mayor John Whitmire emphasized that the investment would drive local job creation and solidify Houston's leadership in the national manufacturing sector.
