US Provided $21.7 Billion in Military Aid to Israel

Research from Brown University's Costs of War project and the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft reveals that the Federal government of the United States provided at least $21.7 billion in military assistance to Israel from October 2023 to September 2025. The spending was split across two administrations, with $17.9 billion delivered during the first year under Joe Biden and $3.8 billion provided in the second year under Donald Trump.

Beyond direct aid to Israel, the U.S. spent between $9.65 billion and $12.07 billion on wider Middle East security operations. These expenditures included military strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen and Iranian nuclear facilities. Researchers concluded that Israel would have been unable to sustain its military campaigns in Gaza and the surrounding region without this financial and weaponry support.

These findings emerge as President Donald Trump presses for an end to the Gaza war. Simultaneously, officials from Israel and Hamas have begun indirect negotiations in Egypt to seek a resolution to the conflict.
