Christopher Imumolen Withdraws from 2027 Presidential Race

Christopher Imumolen withdrew his 2027 presidential candidacy for the Accord Party and endorsed President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid to prioritize national unity.

Professor Christopher Imumolen, the presidential candidate and factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, withdrew from the 2027 presidential race on Wednesday in Abuja. In a public statement, Imumolen declared his full endorsement of President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid, describing the move as a patriotic sacrifice intended to prioritize national unity and stability over personal ambition.

Imumolen cited ten reasons for the endorsement, claiming that President Tinubu's reform agenda regarding industrialization, education, and economic transformation aligns with his own manifesto. He argued that continuity in governance and policy consistency are essential requirements for strengthening Nigerian institutions and attracting investment.

Following his withdrawal, Imumolen called upon professionals, youth, and members of the Accord Party to support the re-election project. He stated that the decision followed consultations with the leadership of his party.
