Donald Trump stated in a CNBC interview that the United States must maintain its leadership in artificial intelligence to secure a decisive global advantage over China. He characterized AI as more significant than the internet and asserted that the U.S. currently leads the global race.

To support the high energy demands of the AI industry, Trump noted that his administration allowed companies to build their own power generation facilities. He also linked AI dominance to the revival of domestic semiconductor manufacturing, specifically citing new factories in Arizona.

Trump detailed a government effort to help Intel recover in exchange for a 10 percent equity stake, a move he claimed generated $60 to $70 billion in eight months. Regarding oversight, he advocated for minimal regulation, suggesting only essential guard rails to address security risks.
