Trump Warns China After Reports of Iran Missile Deal

Reports indicate that Iran has signed a $60 million to $70 million contract to purchase 300 to 400 Chinese-made man-portable air defence systems, specifically QW-12 and FN-16 missiles. The deal, allegedly facilitated by the Hong Kong-based Zhongqing Baoshang International Investment, aims to bolster short-range defenses after joint U.S.-Israeli strikes exposed vulnerabilities in Iranian strategic sites. Deliveries are expected to originate from Urumqi, China, and transit through Pakistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations both denied the reports, dismissing them as groundless and concocted. President Donald Trump warned China and Russia that providing weapons to Iran would be very bad for them, claiming that President Xi Jinping previously promised not to sell weapons to the Islamic Republic.

These developments occur during a volatile period in which Iran recently launched ballistic missiles toward a U.S. military base in Jordan. While the U.S. suspended bombardments on Saturday, Trump warned that strikes would resume if negotiations to end the five-month conflict fail.
