Ukrainian Drone Makers Use Provocative Names at Farnborough Airshow

Ukrainian defense manufacturers showcased new drone technology at the Farnborough airshow, using provocative naming as a tool of psychological warfare against Russia.

Ukrainian defense manufacturers presented a series of new drone models at the Farnborough airshow in the United Kingdom on July 21, 2026. The exhibits highlighted a strategic use of unconventional and provocative naming intended as a form of psychological warfare and resistance against Russian forces.

SkyFall displayed the PS-1 Sun Jet Killer, an interceptor designed to target Russian jet-powered Shahed drones, which carries the slang nickname "pissioun." Similarly, Fire Point exhibited long-range drones with FP1 and FP2 designations that internally stand for "Fuck Putin."

State manufacturer Ukroboronprom showcased the Palianytsia drone and the Liutyi deep-strike drone, the latter of which is utilized against Russian oil refineries. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy named another Ukroboronprom attack drone "Peklo" (hell). A company official characterized the Peklo drone as vengeance for Russian destruction, specifically citing the loss of the Antonov An-225 Mriya aircraft.
