Poll Shows Majority of Americans Believe Trump Profited Inappropriately
A Reuters/Ipsos poll finds 69% of Americans believe Donald Trump has inappropriately profited since returning to power through business interests and foreign deals.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll indicates that 69% of Americans believe Donald Trump has inappropriately profited since returning to power. A majority of respondents view his personal business interests as influencing presidential decisions, coinciding with reports of a dramatic surge in the net worth of the president and his family during his second term.
Financial gains have been linked to investments in industries overseen by the administration, including the creation of the Trump meme coin. In a significant transaction, representatives of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi purchased 49% of a Trump cryptocurrency entity in a $500 million agreement. Trump has also earned millions by licensing his name to property developers in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
Beyond business deals, allegations suggest the use of government power for personal goals. These claims include the solicitation of payments in exchange for presidential pardons and the targeting of law firms and media companies that have been antagonistic toward the administration.
