APC and Pro-Tinubu Groups Launch 2027 Election Mobilization

The All Progressives Congress and allied groups have launched massive grassroots campaigns for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election while opposition parties struggle with internal disputes.

Campaigns for Nigeria's 2027 general elections have officially begun, with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and allied organizations establishing a significant organizational lead over opposition parties. The APC has consolidated its grassroots presence through the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative, deploying over 4.4 million canvassers and conducting ward-level training in states including Anambra, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, and Ondo.

Parallel mobilization efforts are underway to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Asiwaju Mandate Group conducted simultaneous meetings across 18 local government areas in Ondo State to communicate administration policies. Additionally, the Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria is launching a nationwide campaign in Jos, Plateau State, where it plans to deploy a "Booth Army" to polling units to highlight reforms such as foreign exchange market unification and the removal of fuel subsidies.

In contrast, major opposition parties face internal instability. The African Democratic Congress is prioritizing the resolution of a leadership battle involving Nafiu Bala Gombe, David Mark, and Rauf Aregbesola, while the Nigeria Democratic Congress is attempting to reconcile factional disputes in Oyo State and legal battles in Sokoto, Kaduna, and Nasarawa. Opposition officials report a lack of coordinated national fundraising, leaving them reliant on individual donors as the ruling party expands its machinery.
