Bayo Onanuga Dismisses Comparisons Between Tinubu and Peter Obi

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, dismissed comparisons between the Nigerian president and Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress. In a series of posts on X on Wednesday, Onanuga characterized Obi as a copy-and-paste politician lacking original thinking.

Onanuga argued that Obi failed to leave a remarkable legacy during his eight-year term as governor of Anambra State. He specifically referenced claims from Obi's successor, Willie Obiano, asserting that Obi failed spectacularly to provide security within the state.

In contrast, Onanuga praised the record of President Bola Tinubu during his tenure as governor of Lagos State. He highlighted the establishment of institutions such as LAWMA, LASTMA, and LAMATA, as well as the implementation of a rail and road masterplan that continues to be executed.
