Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on regional countries to resist external interference and avoid stoking tensions in the South China Sea. Speaking on Wednesday at the China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila, Philippines, Wang urged regional nations to reject efforts by outside countries to stir trouble to maintain regional peace and stability.
Wang emphasized that a critical window is currently open for finalizing the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea. He called on all participating parties to seize this opportunity to achieve the objective of a formalized agreement.
