Shehbaz Sharif Meets Saudi Delegation to Forge Strategic Partnership

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a Saudi business delegation in Islamabad to transition economic ties into a strategic economic partnership across multiple sectors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a high-level Saudi business delegation in Islamabad on August 25, 2026, to discuss elevating the economic relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia into a strategic economic partnership. The delegation, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, expressed interest in investment opportunities across priority sectors including agriculture, ports, highways, energy, real estate, and information technology.

Sharif stated that the current period is the most opportune time for both government-to-government and business-to-business collaboration. This diplomatic push follows a trend of increasing financial cooperation, including a $5 billion deposit rollover provided by Riyadh last month and the signing of 34 MoUs worth $2.8 billion in 2024.

The Saudi delegation is scheduled to continue its visit by meeting with additional government representatives and private-sector stakeholders to further explore these investment opportunities.
