Donald Trump Makes Graphic Remarks About Senator Jon Husted
President Donald Trump drew criticism and mockery after making graphic comments about Senator Jon Husted's physique during a campaign rally in Kentucky.
Donald Trump made graphic remarks about the physique of Republican Senator Jon Husted during a campaign rally in Highland Heights, Kentucky. The president stated he had examined Husted's shoulders, feet, hands, jawline, and rear end, describing the senator's shoulder as being "like a piece of steel" and noting he had never inspected a man in such a manner before.
The comments became a subject of humor at a Darke County GOP hog roast in Greenville, Ohio, where Husted acknowledged the remarks. Fellow Senator Bernie Moreno joked about the president's interest in Husted's anatomy, while Trump claimed that highlighting Husted's background as a University of Dayton football player improved the senator's standing by 9 or 10 points in his re-election race against Democrat Sherrod Brown.
Late-night comedy hosts later mocked the exchange. On The Daily Show, Michael Kosta suggested the president spent more time thinking about Husted's anatomy than ending the war in Iran. Jimmy Fallon also commented on Trump's record-low approval ratings and campaign tactics ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
