Russia Launches Mass Strikes Killing 23 Across Ukraine

Russian forces executed a series of coordinated attacks across Ukraine on July 24 and 25, 2026, resulting in at least 23 deaths. The most severe strike targeted a defense industry event in the Kyiv region, where 10 people were killed and approximately 100 were injured. Ruslan Kravchenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, launched two criminal investigations into the incident, treating the strike as a war crime and probing whether officials failed to properly assess security risks under martial law.

Other assaults included guided aerial bomb strikes in Zaporizhia that injured four people and a drone strike in the Dnipropetrovsk region that destroyed a passenger train locomotive. While passengers were evacuated without casualties, the strike continued a pattern of attacks on rail infrastructure. In the Sumy region, a Russian drone strike killed three Nova Poshta courier drivers; Russian officials claimed the site was a drone launch facility, while local officials described it as a civilian target.

Ukrainian forces also conducted strikes on tourist resorts in the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia region, killing eight people, including two children. On July 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that intelligence indicates Russia is preparing for another large-scale missile attack within 48 hours. Meanwhile, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported 192 combat engagements on July 24, alongside the interception of thousands of kamikaze drones.
