Netanyahu Vows West Bank Control Amid Military Raids

Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to extend Israeli military control across the West Bank as Israeli forces conducted raids on medical facilities and NGOs.

Israeli military forces conducted a series of raids and air strikes across the West Bank and Gaza Strip on October 13 and 14, 2026. In the West Bank, the Israeli Defense Forces targeted the Palestine Medical Complex and the headquarters of the human rights association Addameer, where soldiers confiscated files and equipment. These operations resulted in several Palestinian injuries, including a child and two journalists from Sky News Arabia and Palestine TV. In Jenin, soldiers detained residents at a bakery, while in Masafer Yatta, forces arrested a foreign pro-Palestinian activist.

Simultaneously, the Palestine Liberation Organization reported an increase in attacks by armed settlers attempting to seize land and resources during the olive harvest season. In Gaza City, an Israeli air strike in the Tuffah neighborhood killed one person and wounded several others. Gaza's Civil Defence agency reported that indiscriminate gunfire and explosions near the Yellow Line boundary damaged tents for displaced persons.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the instability by declaring that Israel is preparing for potential attacks from Palestinian Authority forces. He vowed to extend Israeli military control across the West Bank, stating that there will be no Arab army west of the Jordan River. These developments occur one year after a ceasefire was established under a 20-point plan authored by U.S. President Donald Trump, though nearly two-thirds of Gaza remains under Israeli military control or access restrictions.
