Rebellion PAC Ad Blaming Israel for Grocery Prices Sparks Backlash

Rebellion PAC released a video ad supporting Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed that links U.S. military aid to Israel with high domestic food costs.

The Rebellion PAC, founded by The Young Turks co-founder Cenk Uygur, released a video advertisement supporting Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed that attributes high domestic grocery prices to U.S. military aid to Israel. The ad features a couple opting not to buy eggs, claiming the funds are instead used for "killing Palestinians."

The Anti-Defamation League and other critics condemned the advertisement as antisemitic scapegoating. Cenk Uygur defended the content, stating that those who view the ad as antisemitic are "in a cult."

The controversy aligns with previous statements from Abdul El-Sayed, who has described Israeli leadership as "as evil as Hamas" and argued that Israel should no longer be viewed as an American ally. Donald Trump has also criticized El-Sayed's positions and raised allegations regarding his family's potential connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.
