Late-Night Hosts Mock Republicans After Democratic Midterm Sweep
Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers ridiculed Republican leaders for distancing themselves from Donald Trump following a historic Democratic victory in the midterm elections.
Late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers mocked Republican reactions to a Democratic midterm election victory that Kimmel described as the "biggest midterm sweep in more than 50 years."
Meyers criticized Republican figures for "furiously backpedalling" from Donald Trump, noting that some within the party are now characterizing the election results as the "death of Maga." Among those distancing themselves is JD Vance, who attributed the Republican losses to the war and urged the party to analyze its mistakes.
Kimmel ridiculed the president's recent focus on trivial issues, including the design of the Oval Office and daylight savings time. He suggested that Trump's failure to deliver on various promises has finally caught up with him.
