Sola Ebiseni Leaves Afenifere to Join APC

Chief Sola Ebiseni, the Secretary-General of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization Afenifere, resigned his position to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). During a meeting with Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Akure, Ebiseni declared his support for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid.

Ebiseni, who previously served as the South-West Coordinator for Peter Obi's 2023 presidential campaign, argued that maintaining the presidency in southern Nigeria is essential for political stability. He specifically cited the need to consolidate economic and security reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the implementation of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.

Ebiseni described himself as a "forerunner" for a larger group of Nigerians who have been consulting across the six geopolitical zones over the past year. Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed Ebiseni into the APC, stating that his political reach and experience would enhance the party's mobilization efforts for the next general election.
