Ahmad Tibi Offers Arab Bloc Support to Oust Netanyahu
Ahmad Tibi announced the Arab Joint List is willing to partner with Jewish-led parties to remove Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from power.
Senior member of the Arab Joint List Ahmad Tibi announced that his bloc is willing to partner with Jewish-led parties to remove Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from power. Following record voter turnout, the Joint List won 11 seats and Ra’am won 8 in the 120-member Knesset, positioning them as essential partners for the opposition led by Gadi Eisenkot to overcome Netanyahu's 53-seat coalition.
While Ra’am is open to joining a government formally, the Joint List prefers providing outside support to avoid participating in wars in Gaza and Lebanon. Tibi described the potential for a "repair government" as a way to address violent crime in Arab communities and improve the lives of Palestinian citizens.
Gadi Eisenkot has conditioned any partnership on Arab parties labeling Hamas a terrorist group that must be destroyed. Both the Joint List and Ra’am have refused this demand, arguing that such a designation would justify Israel's military campaign in Gaza.
