Robin Johnson Urges Maine Voters to Support Troy Jackson

Robin Johnson urged Maine voters to support candidate Troy Jackson to unseat Senator Susan Collins, warning that write-in votes for Graham Platner would be wasted.

Robin Johnson, a resident of Waterville, issued a public appeal urging Maine voters to unite behind candidate Troy Jackson in the upcoming November election. The effort aims to unseat incumbent Senator Susan Collins.

Johnson warned that casting write-in votes for Graham Platner would be ineffective because Maine law requires write-in candidates to file a declaration of candidacy 70 days before the election to be counted. Johnson characterized votes for undeclared candidates as "philosophical votes" that the state cannot afford given the need to address rising costs for healthcare, groceries, gasoline, and foreign war.

In the appeal, Johnson argued that the election is paramount for preserving democracy and stated that "a vote for an undeclared write-in candidate — or any other candidate besides Jackson — is a wasted vote."
