Senator Jon Ossoff Accuses Donald Trump of AI Conflicts

Senator Jon Ossoff accused President Donald Trump of being financially compromised regarding his defense of the artificial intelligence industry. Ossoff cited conflicts of interest involving 1789 Capital, a venture capital firm where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner, noting the firm has invested heavily in AI labs, data centers, and companies including Reflection AI and Cerebras Systems.

President Donald Trump has dismissed warnings that AI could destroy humanity, comparing such fears to climate change. He maintained that the impact of the technology will be more beneficial than harmful. In response, Ossoff called for tech CEOs to testify before Congress and urged for increased fortifications against AI-driven bioterrorism.

Separately, Ossoff criticized the Trump family following reports that Umar Kremlev, the head of the International Boxing Association with ties to Vladimir Putin, provided significant funding for the wedding of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Trump in the Bahamas.
