Zelenskyy Targets Russian War Funding With Weapons Scale-Up

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a strategy meeting with the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, government ministers, and weapons manufacturers to maximize national defense capabilities. He announced that Ukraine has developed the capacity to produce technological weapons—including drones, naval systems, missile programs, electronic warfare equipment, and military hardware—at a volume that can exceed Russian capacities in the long term.

To maintain this trajectory, Zelenskyy instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense to secure additional funding and investments from international partners. He framed these investments as a means of forcing Russia into peace.

Zelenskyy also detailed a plan to implement long-range and medium-range sanctions aimed at limiting the ability of the Russian government to finance the war. The strategy focuses on increasing the cost of occupation by ensuring the conflict affects the daily lives of various Russian social groups.
