Rahul Gandhi Accuses Amit Shah of Silencing Women
Rahul Gandhi accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Police of systematically assaulting and silencing women journalists and protesters in New Delhi.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi Police of systematically silencing women who question authority. The allegations follow reports that journalists Shaheen Khan and Nafisa Khan were assaulted at the Saket police station while covering an event attended by Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Gandhi cited additional instances of misconduct, including the seizure of cameras from female journalists and the detention of protesters at Jantar Mantar. Female participants at the protest site alleged misbehavior by male officers during the operation.
Demanding accountability, Gandhi called for the immediate public release of CCTV footage from the Saket police station and requested that action be taken against the officers involved. He questioned why the Home Minister and the police force are afraid of women.
