President Donald Trump has publicly dismissed intelligence and testimony suggesting that Russia and China are assisting Iran in targeting United States troops during the ongoing war with Iran. Despite assertions from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine that these nations are enabling Iranian actions, Trump stated on social media and in public remarks that he trusts the leadership of Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.

Reports indicate that Russia has provided Iran with drones and satellite imagery of U.S. bases, a claim supported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Additionally, intelligence suggests Iran expects 400 Chinese-made shoulder-fired missiles and has received missile-fuel precursors from Beijing. While the administration has sanctioned some small Chinese refineries, it has avoided targeting larger state-owned enterprises.

Trump characterized the potential impact of such intelligence sharing as unimpactful and expressed doubt that these nations would want to disappoint him. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the administration's position, asserting that the U.S. military is decimating the Iranian regime regardless of outside support.
