Afghanistan Condemns Pakistan Over Terrorism Allegations and Failed Diplomacy

Afghanistan's Islamic Emirate accused Pakistani military circles of sabotaging negotiations after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised concerns about terrorism emanating from Afghan soil.

The Government of Afghanistan condemned Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after he called for concrete and verifiable action against terrorist groups on Afghan soil during a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Afghan officials characterized these claims as baseless allegations and a failed policy designed to mask Pakistan's own political, security, social, and economic failures.

Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid and Deputy Government Spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat asserted that Pakistani authorities prioritize propaganda over finding solutions, which they claim sabotages negotiation processes and creates negative implications for the entire region. Mujahid specifically accused certain circles within the Pakistani military of repeatedly obstructing progress toward mutual understanding, while noting that the Islamic Emirate does not blame Pakistan's political leadership.

Mujahid denied that Afghanistan interferes in Pakistan's internal affairs, stating that recent developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are unrelated to Kabul. He maintained that the Islamic Emirate has taken effective measures to prevent its territory from being used to create insecurity in other countries, while alleging that some Pakistani circles continue to pursue policies of aggression.
