Revanth Reddy Seeks Cabinet Approval for Telangana Ring Road
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to expedite approvals for several major highway projects.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on July 14, 2026, to secure Union Cabinet approval for the northern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR). Reddy reported that land acquisition for the 158 km northern section is 95% complete and urged the central government to grant clearances quickly so that construction on the northern and southern sections can proceed simultaneously.
In addition to the RRR, Reddy requested permission for several other critical infrastructure projects to improve connectivity in the region. These include a greenfield highway between Hyderabad and Amaravati, a 12-lane expressway linking Bharat Future City to Machilipatnam Port, and a new six-lane highway connecting Hyderabad and Mancherial. He also sought necessary forest clearances for the Mannanur-Srisailam elevated corridor.
