Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Seals Major AI Infrastructure Deals in Korea

Jensen Huang secured strategic partnerships with SK Group, Naver, LG, and Hyundai to build gigawatt-scale AI factories and next-generation memory infrastructure across South Korea.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visited South Korea from June 6 to June 9, 2026, establishing a sweeping alliance with the nation's largest conglomerates to build a global AI infrastructure hub. The centerpieces of the visit were agreements to construct gigawatt-scale AI factories using the NVIDIA DSX platform. SK Telecom plans to launch its first AI factory by 2027, while Naver will expand its GAK Sejong data center from 55 megawatts to a gigawatt scale to serve markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

To support this hardware expansion, NVIDIA entered a multi-year partnership with SK Hynix to co-develop next-generation high-bandwidth memory, specifically for the Vera Rubin AI accelerator. Huang also expanded cooperation into physical AI and robotics, signing deals with LG Group for humanoid robots and Hyundai Motor Group for autonomous mobility, including a specialized AI cluster in Saemangeum. Other partners included Doosan Group for energy solutions and Samsung Electronics for foundry and autonomous driving chips.

The visit coincided with a severe global technology stock sell-off, which saw the South Korean Kospi index drop over 10% on June 8. Huang dismissed the volatility as a buying opportunity, asserting that the AI infrastructure build-out is only in its early stages. Simultaneously, the South Korean government announced a 2.08 trillion won state AI project for 2026, including the procurement of over 2,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs.
