O’odua People’s Congress Endorses Bola Tinubu for 2027 Re-election

The O’odua People’s Congress (OPC) endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election during the organization's 32nd Founders’ Day celebration in Lagos. The announcement coincided with the inauguration of a new National Executive Council on Saturday.

Wasiu Afolabi, the re-elected President of the OPC, stated that the group views any Yoruba man in office as a corporate project. He pledged the organization's support for Tinubu's re-election to ensure the president can complete his current reforms.

Afolabi called on other regions of Nigeria to support the bid, specifically urging the North to provide backing as reciprocity for the support Tinubu gave to former President Muhammadu Buhari during his two terms in office. Wale Oshun, Chairman of the OPC Board of Trustees, described the group as a leading legacy organization in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.
