Iran's Revolutionary Guard Urges US Voters to Reject Trump

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a 25-page open letter to United States voters on September 29, 2026, urging them to reject President Donald Trump's Middle East policies in favor of peaceful coexistence. During a news conference in Tehran, spokesperson General Hossein Mohebbi characterized the U.S. approach as war-mongering and claimed Washington uses Iran's nuclear program as a ruse to plunder the nation's wealth.
Mohebbi described the U.S. president as an inveterate liar and an insanely avaricious man, arguing that American national security is compromised by Trump's personal motivations. The appeal follows threats from President Trump at the UN General Assembly that he could annihilate the Islamic Republic. Mohebbi also disputed U.S. claims that Iran has lost leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, despite data showing a recovery in oil exports.
These diplomatic tensions coincide with economic instability in Iran, as the rial fell to a record low of over 2.5 million to the U.S. dollar. Meanwhile, regional violence continued as the Israeli military killed Hamas commander Izz al-Din Bik in a strike west of Gaza City. In the West Bank village of Jalud, Israeli settlers rioted to block the military from returning a Palestinian man to his home, an action condemned by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
