Qatar Accuses Israel of Blocking Trump Gaza Peace Plan

The Government of Qatar, alongside Egypt and Türkiye, has accused Israel of bearing full responsibility for obstructing the implementation of a US-backed peace plan for the Gaza Strip. In a joint statement, the mediators condemned renewed Israeli strikes on civilians and healthcare facilities, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law that undermines the second phase of the ceasefire.

The peace process, managed by President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, centers on a roadmap involving the disarmament of Hamas and a phased Israeli military withdrawal. Tensions escalated following a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Board of Peace officials, where the Board stated that Israeli forces would only withdraw beyond the "Yellow Line" once Hamas decommissioning is complete. This position contradicts previous assertions by high representative Nickolay Mladenov that withdrawal and decommissioning should move in lockstep.

Hamas expressed unease over these conditions, arguing that the shift ignores Israeli obligations regarding the cessation of military aggression and humanitarian aid. Jordan's Foreign Ministry joined the mediators in urging the international community to pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations and ensure the delivery of medical supplies to the enclave.
