Israeli Airstrike Kills Two Palestinians in Gaza City

The Israeli military killed at least two Palestinians in a Gaza City airstrike, sparking accusations from Hamas that Israel is violating a U.S.-backed ceasefire.

An Israeli airstrike killed at least two Palestinians and wounded several others on Monday in Gaza City. The strike targeted a crowd near a municipal public park in an area densely populated with displaced families.

While a U.S.-backed ceasefire established in October 2025 halted major fighting, the Israeli military continues to conduct strikes it claims are necessary to thwart attacks by Hamas and other militants. Hamas accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire and undermining a broader peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which involves Israeli withdrawals and Hamas disarmament.

Casualties have continued to mount since the ceasefire began. Gazan health officials report more than 1,300 Palestinians have been killed, while the Israeli military reports the deaths of four Israeli soldiers.
