Tinubu Appointments Strengthen Support in North Central Nigeria

All Progressives Congress chieftain John Okolo stated that President Bola Tinubu has strengthened support for his administration in Nigeria's North Central region through the appointment of Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff and other key federal roles. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Okolo noted that these decisions have fostered a sense of inclusion and recognition, particularly within Kogi State.

Okolo credited the leadership of Shaibu with improving security coordination, accelerating incident response times, and enhancing intelligence sharing with local communities. He linked the rising regional support to these appointments as well as ongoing federal projects in Kogi, including the development of military barracks in Anyigba.

Looking toward the 2027 elections, Okolo asserted that these developments would secure the region's backing for the president. He specifically urged the Igala people to avoid vote splitting to ensure a second term for the administration.
