Governor Fubara Endorses Rainbow Coalition and President Tinubu
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara endorsed President Bola Tinubu and candidate Kingsley Chinda while aligning with the Nyesom Wike-led Rainbow Coalition to end a prolonged political feud.
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara declared his support for the Rainbow Coalition, a multi-party political alliance led by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Riven Medical Facility in Rumuosi. The governor endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and backed Kingsley Chinda as the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2027 governorship of Rivers State.
This alignment marks a public reconciliation between Fubara and Wike, ending a long-standing political conflict that had previously involved impeachment attempts against the governor. Fubara, who withdrew from the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries in May, urged his supporters to provide total support to the coalition's candidates to ensure regional peace and unity.
In addition to the political endorsements, Fubara reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the Rivers Medical Industry project. He announced that the first phase of the medical consumables factory is expected to be completed within three months to advance local industrialization in the state.
