Congress Member of Parliament Manish Tewari defended his decision to share a stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a high-profile event on July 17. The program, held in Chandigarh, centered on the inauguration and foundation stone laying for development projects totaling more than Rs 4,700 crore for Chandigarh and Sri Anandpur Sahib.
During the event, Tewari interacted with Prime Minister Modi and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda. Addressing subsequent criticism on X, Tewari stated that he prioritizes development over partisan politics, referencing a previous similar instance in 2022 during the opening of the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.
Tewari criticized the current state of Indian politics, describing the atmosphere as toxic and corrosive. He specifically identified Delhi as an epitome of a systematic breakdown in political conduct.
