Fiat Launches Topolino Electric Microcar in United States
Fiat launched the all-electric Topolino micromobility vehicle in the U.S. starting at $13,995, targeting resorts, college campuses, and private communities.
Stellantis officially launched the Fiat Topolino and Topolino Dolcevita in the United States on July 7, 2026. Positioned as a neighborhood electric vehicle rather than a traditional passenger car, the two-seat microcar starts at $13,995, with some pricing reaching $14,985 including destination fees. The vehicle is a rebadged version of the Citroën Ami, featuring an eight-horsepower motor and a 5.4-kWh lithium-ion battery that provides approximately 46 miles of range and takes five hours to charge.
Initially limited to a top speed of 19 mph for use in resorts and private developments, the vehicle will receive a free conversion kit by late summer 2026. This upgrade will increase the top speed to 25 mph, qualifying the Topolino as a federally regulated Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) legal on public roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less. The base model lacks air conditioning, heating, and a stereo, though the Dolcevita edition offers a canvas top and rope doors.
To support the launch, Fiat partnered with Motori & Customs to provide bespoke customizations. This move into the micromobility segment follows a December 2025 announcement by President Donald Trump encouraging the production of inexpensive tiny cars in America. CEO Olivier Francois described the launch as a new chapter for the brand in the U.S. designed to anticipate evolving customer needs.
