Trump Media Launches Truth API for High-Speed Market Data
Trump Media & Technology Group is launching a paid API providing financial firms millisecond access to President Donald Trump's Truth Social posts starting August 1.
Trump Media & Technology Group announced the launch of Truth API on July 16, 2026, a licensed data service providing banks and algorithmic trading firms with near-instant access to posts from the 10 most influential accounts on Truth Social. Scheduled to go live on August 1, the service delivers market-moving content in milliseconds, significantly faster than standard push notifications. Reports indicate the company may charge up to $100,000 per month, with a discounted rate of $60,000 for three-year contracts.
Interim CEO Kevin McGurn described the initiative as a strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream. The service includes a historical archive dating back to 2022 and is designed to replace manual monitoring and data scraping. TMTG seeks to compete in the financial data market by leveraging the volatility caused by President Donald Trump's posts on issues such as tariffs and cryptocurrency.
The move has sparked backlash from Democratic lawmakers and ethics watchdogs. Senator Elizabeth Warren called the API an "egregious scheme to profit off the presidency," while Senator Ron Wyden argued it would enrich Wall Street traders. Critics point out that the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust holds approximately 41% of TMTG stock, meaning President Trump stands to profit directly from the service. Former White House ethics lawyer Richard Painter warned that selling access to market-moving federal government information before public release could violate federal insider trading laws.
