Donald Trump Holds Midterm Rally in Mobile, Alabama

President Donald Trump held a campaign rally in Mobile to support Republican midterm candidates and promote his economic agenda.

President Donald Trump held a campaign rally on October 2, 2026, at the University of South Alabama's Mitchell Center in Mobile to boost Republican turnout for the November 3 midterm elections. Returning to the city where he held his first mega-rally in 2015, Trump urged supporters to back candidates including Senator Tommy Tuberville, who is running for governor, and State Representative Rhett Marques, who is challenging Democratic Representative Shomari Figures.

During the event, Trump claimed his was "the most successful presidency in history" and promised to send $5,000 checks to citizens. He cited planned investments from companies such as Mercedes-Benz Group AG, US Steel, Eli Lilly & Co., and ArcelorMittal as evidence of his economic success, while praising Tuberville for securing funding to revitalize the American shipbuilding industry. The rally took place amid record-low approval ratings of 31% and voter frustration over gas prices and the cost of living.

To secure the venue, the United States Secret Service closed several roads around the Mitchell Center, and the university suspended shuttle services and closed most campus buildings. Supporters began lining up as early as 3 a.m., while protesters also gathered at the site. Republican officials strategically placed the event in Mobile to reach voters in the nearby Florida Panhandle. Trump announced he will return to Alabama next Saturday for a college football game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.
