Shehbaz Sharif Accuses India of Sponsoring Terrorism in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused India of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan during the Balochistan National Workshop in Islamabad on July 24, 2026. Sharif alleged that India provides financial and logistical support to terrorist elements as part of an organized conspiracy to revive terrorism after it had been largely eliminated by 2018. He also stated that the Afghan Taliban regime has failed to prevent its territory from being used by terrorist groups to launch attacks inside Pakistan.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir supported these claims, vowing a decisive response to defeat foreign-sponsored proxies in Balochistan, specifically targeting groups identified as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. These security concerns follow recent violence, including an attack in Mastung that killed a sessions judge and another official.

Addressing domestic development, Sharif detailed federal investments in Balochistan, including the solarization of 27,000 tube wells and the Rs300 billion Karachi-Chaman Expressway. He also noted Pakistan's role as a mediator between the United States and Iran following strikes on Iran on February 28.
