Ken Paxton Investigates Illegal Felon Voting in Harris County

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton arrested several individuals for allegedly voting while convicted felons in Harris County during the current election cycle.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into claims that convicted felons cast illegal ballots in Harris County. Working with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Paxton's office arrested an undisclosed number of individuals after receiving open-source information from a citizen.

Under Texas law, felons are prohibited from voting until they have completed their entire sentence, including all terms of parole and probation. Local reports indicate that at least two men were arrested while still on probation.

Paxton stated that the investigation will not be resolved before the election concludes on Tuesday. He noted that his Election Integrity Unit is actively investigating additional reports of election crimes to ensure the protection of lawful votes.
