Minister David Umahi Urges Second Term for President Tinubu

Minister of Works David Umahi called for President Bola Tinubu to serve another term during the flag-off of a 1.5 trillion naira highway project in Niger State.

Minister of Works David Umahi called for President Bola Tinubu to serve a second four-year term to complete extensive infrastructure projects across Nigeria. Speaking during the flag-off of the 1.5 trillion naira reconstruction and dualisation of the 401-kilometre Lambata-Kontagora Highway in Bida, Niger State, Umahi stated that the federal government is currently executing 5,500 kilometres of road projects nationwide, with 1,055 kilometres located in Niger State alone.

Umahi described the Lambata-Kontagora project as a potential fifth legacy project for the administration. The construction will utilize reinforced concrete pavement and is being facilitated through the federal government's infrastructure tax-credit scheme involving the Dangote Group. Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris Malagi noted that the project demonstrates the impact of the administration's economic reforms.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, who represented the president at the ceremony, described the highway as a strategic transportation corridor for commerce and the movement of goods. In recognition of these federal investments, Bago pledged to deliver the highest number of votes nationwide for President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
